WELCOME to the homepage for the MIT Vehicle Design Summit, an international and student-led program working to contribute a new mode for education, innovation and inspiration through transportation design. This site is intended to provide the public a window in on our work while giving us the chance to learn from you.

For our teams, sponsors, and collaborators, this site is intended as a public affirmation of what we care about, what we have done, and what we aspire to accomplish in the future. VDS turned four on April 1st and for that reason, this site is also a little bit of a retrospective and a celebratory brainstorm about what the project should and could be moving forward. If you are new to VDS, the best place to start might be our newest vehicle, to come out this spring, code-named ArchiMITes for the inspiration it drew from the famous mathematician Archimedes.

For those of you who have worked on the project in the past or have some history with our work, we have done our best to provide a fairly comprehensive study of the vehicles we have worked on, people who we have had the honor of working with and lessons learned. We appreciate your ongoing interest and involvement with the project. We recently restructured the project to enable a larger number of people to contribute ideas and these changes are detailed under the team section. Likewise, we are in the process of adding open competitions for aspects of vehicle design which benefit from deadlines and incentives along with some simulation games. We hope you enjoy!
